Edakkal Caves is an archeological site located near Ambalavayal in Wayanad District of Kerala.

I visited this cave before the Covid -19 pandemic along with my brother-in-law.

The walls of the cave are filled with inscriptions and art works which shed light to the life of pre-historical human beings.

There are two caves and one of them is not accessible due to the destruction during the great flood of 2018.

It is a giant cave with a natural opening on top through which sunlight and rain fall inside.
